Cloth Diapering.

I'm going to try it. My cousin has a 1 yo little girl and she cloth diapered for a period but is done. I texted her today to see where she got her cloth diapers and her response "bru and you can have them!" Yippee! That makes starting up less scary! I mean, I am flaky by nature...I like to start things but follow through isn't really my strong point. I have a desire to be crunchy, green and more gentle. Take a more gentle approach to parenting, a gentle effect on the environment and a gentle approach with Todd. Again, I'm good at ideas and intentions but the follow through. Not so much. Wish my luck! Starting Christmas, I'll be cloth diapering...I've already started baby wearing and LOVE IT!

I hope you love it as much as we do! We switched to cloth almost 2 months ago, and haven't looked back. I am addicted, lol! We started with diaper service quality flats, prefolds, and covers because they were easy to clean in our front loader. Check out diaperpin.com for advice from very experienced cloth diaper mamas, and good luck!

If I were you, I'd get 1 dozen brown edge prefolds and 1 dozen flats from green mountain diapers. The brown edges might be a bit big on your guy right now, but you can always fold down the pf-- better than being too small. Also get a 3-pack of snappis, and about 5-6 covers. Bummis super whisper wraps are excellent, as are the blueberry one size covers, and thirsties. Your little guy probably wears a medium bummis cover- they fit my 16 lb baby and my 23 lb baby. Then, as you progress, you can fill up your stash more--you'll see if you prefer flats or prefolds, and if you want to spend the $ on a couple all-in-one diapers or pocket dipes (we use those for church nursery, babysitters, etc)
